Bones are often thought of as solid, static structures - a framework that simply holds us upright. In reality, bones are living, responsive tissues that play an active role in many systems of the body, far beyond posture or fracture prevention.
Bone tissue is constantly being broken down and rebuilt, which is why it is often referred to as a ‘living matrix’. Bones store minerals such as calcium, support iron metabolism through bone marrow, and are responsible for producing blood cells that play a central role in immune health. This means bone health is deeply connected to resilience, energy levels, and the body’s ability to adapt to stress.
