The nature of my teaching and the classes

Somatic & Mindful Yoga:

A yoga journey to open up the body and soothe the brain and nervous system. Beginning with a meditative, somatic practice, we arrive into the body and meet ourselves where we are. From this grounding, awareness and attunement into our inner landscape, we can then move from the centre in a more integrated way, feeling out what we need moment to moment. So whether the journey through different postures involves floorwork, standing, dynamic or restorative, there is the space and kind attention for each person to move in ways that feel safe, supportive and opening. In this way we can ease open muscles, fascia and posture in a safe and body intelligent way, with an emphasis on the breath and kind, mindful attention.

Mindfulness & Meditation:

This will be a session where you can settle in however you like (eg seated or lying) to listen to a talk that may include a reading, a poem, a self-enquiry question or even a bedtime story! Charlotte will pick a theme that feels relevant for the time to talk about, open a brief discussion and then guide a meditation (20-30 mins) along that theme with time for silence included.


Schedule:

  • Somatic & Mindful Yoga: Tuesdays 6-7.30pm – a more restorative evening class; low to the ground somatic movement (may be both laying and seated) down to full rest and a long, guided savasana
  • Mindfulness & Meditation: Thursdays 7-8pm – a talk about an aspect of self-care and heartful resources followed by a guided meditation, which you can do seated, lying or in any comfortable position
  • Healing Yoga: Fridays 11am-12pm – class organised via Brighton Natural Health Centre: use this link for more details and to book (not including in Charlotte’s monthly pass, but will be in BNHC class passes)
  • Somatic & Mindful Yoga: Saturdays 10-11.30am – a more energising morning class; starting seated to move towards standing and down to the ground for full rest, still with plenty of space, time to feel and the integration of the pause PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CLASS WILL BE AT THE LATER TIME OF 11.30am-1pm ON SATURDAY 11TH APRIL ONLY

The nature of online classes

As these are online classes, you will be able to see me on screen and hear my instructions, however I will have limited observation available as also leading and showing the practices. This means you will be more ‘left to yourself’ than you would be in an in-person class environment, but the nature of my teaching hopefully allows you to respect your own natural range of motion, personal boundaries and when to back out or modify as you need. Please do email me on info@charlottewattshealth.com with any injuries, specific needs or queries at all, so I can advise how to look after yourself.


Online class details

Each week will be released to book immediately after the current class has passed. Once you have paid, you will be sent the ID code for that specific Zoom meeting.

  • Once you have your ID, it is advisable to open Zoom on a computer or even TV screen for best viewing experience.
  • You will be sent full instructions by email after paying, including the equipment you will need to have ready.
  • For security reasons, when entering a class, you will be placed in a ‘waiting room’ and I need to manually click to allow you to enter – please join 10-15 minutes before the class start to ensure we can do this smoothly and please enter before class start times, so there’s no interruption to the class – you may not be able to enter after it has started. I will start allowing entry 15 minutes before the start time.
  • Opening times are set for half an hour before the class set time (you’ll see in the link sent). I will enter the meeting 15 minutes before, but cannot set that in the meeting times.

Payment and booking details – monthly pass available

Further down this page you will see how to pay and book classes. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page to buy a monthly pass for access to all (except for the Friday Healing Yoga class) or book each class individually. From the class choices below, once you have clicked through, a new page will open with drop-down menus to choose the level of payment you can afford. You can book in for classes right up to the joining time.

If you want to buy more than one class, after paying for one, go the link saying “back to Somatic & Mindful class” in smaller writing to the top right of the main title and you’ll see other options to add to your basket. You’ll see your basket come up to go and pay after your next selection or it will display to the left of the top green bar along the very top of your screen.

After you have gone through the checkout, you’ll see details to join in the Zoom meeting on-screen and you’ll also be sent these by email, so do check your spam folder if you don’t see this come through.

Due to the reduced cost of the classes, payments will be non-refundable or transferable to keep down admin costs.

MONTHLY PASS – TO ATTEND UNLIMITED CLASSES

You can book this via the Paypal link below (use the drop-down menu for your chosen price point) and I will then email you with the codes for free access to classes, which will be renewed every Monday morning and sent to you if within the month you have paid for. This will not apply to the Friday 11am Healing Yoga class which is run by Brighton Natural Health Centre.
