WEEK 4 – Moving to Part 2 – True Change
DAY 25 – Checking in with Mindful Eating

Tip: Even if we start to ingrain a habit of eating mindfully, slowly and clamly, sometimes life creeps in and we notice we’ve bolted that lunch down at our desk.

How: Mindfulness is about experiencing every part of any given moment with all of our senses. This can be easier with eating with the rich sensation of taste involved, than with other activities but we can forget with all of the possible distractions of the modern world. Learning to sit calmly, chew thoroughly and be present for every bite and taste of a meal is a skill that needs to be fostered and practiced regularly or can easily get lost in the speed of life.

Why: Mindless eating is known to add to weight gain by bypassing listening to or feeling your intuitive needs. Chewing fully helps break down your food for full nutrient absorption and tells your body when you’re full for appetite regulation.
