Giving you the chance to unwind after your day and also help provide practical antidotes to the stresses of modern life – from the postural issues of sitting on chairs and hunching over computers to the ‘busy brain’ effects of constant stimulus and psycho-social pressure. You will be guided to let go and relax with the breath to prepare the body for stronger postures to release built-up tensions, then come down to restorative postures and deep relaxation.

HEALING YOGA
This is a restorative and gentle class which can help to facilitate recovery, but good for anyone looking for stress-relief and deep body connection.
Charlotte safely and intuitively helps students to reconnect to their bodies at a pace that suits them. Classes include yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (yogic breathing), mantra (chanting) and meditation – all at levels and depths that can be modified to suit individual needs. Props are used to help the body open up and support muscles that need protection as they are encouraged to strengthen at a safe rate.
There is a strong emphasis on connecting with the breath, with the aim of correcting disordered breathing patterns that can add to our operating below our optimal physical and emotional potential. Moving tension from the body and stilling the mind in this way helps us both cope with and recover from a wide range of conditions, including stress-related illnesses, ME and chronic fatigue syndrome.
“I really enjoyed the class on Sunday. I was very nervous because of my arm and it had been at least a year since I’d done a class, but I needn’t have worried. Thank you for being so careful with my arm. It actually feels more mobile and I feel a bit more confident about the world since then. You are a lovely teacher, I shall definitely come again.”
